Mosaic Top Handle

A boxy top-handle bag cut from a single panel of 2.2 mm vegetable-tanned leather. It takes a 13-inch laptop, a folded umbrella and a water bottle, and it stands upright when you put it down.

The Mosaic Top Handle started as a complaint: a customer wanted a bag that keeps its shape on a restaurant chair. We spent four months on the frame before we were happy with it. The body is folded from one piece rather than panelled, so there is no seam along the base to wear through first.

Full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, cotton twill lining, solid brass hardware

Wipe with a dry cloth. Twice a year, apply a thin layer of neutral cream with a soft cloth and let it dry away from direct heat. Store the bag stuffed, inside its cotton bag. Water marks fade on their own as the leather dries.
