Saddle Flap

A curved flap bag with a hand-cut edge and a single brass turn lock. The flap covers the opening completely, so nothing falls out when the bag tips over in a car.

The curve is struck from a template that only two people in the atelier are allowed to cut. Every flap is bevelled and burnished by hand, which takes twenty-two minutes per bag and is the reason this one is capped at 250 pieces a month.

Full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, cotton twill lining, solid brass turn lock

Wipe with a dry cloth. Twice a year, apply a thin layer of neutral cream with a soft cloth and let it dry away from direct heat. Store the bag stuffed, inside its cotton bag. Water marks fade on their own as the leather dries.
